Teacher Assistant

Al Manara Preschool is seeking a part-time preschool teacher assistant for the 2024-2025 school-year. The mission of Al Manara Preschool is to offer an enriched educational environment with academic excellence in a nurturing Islamic environment.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of early childhood education and will have demonstrated success in assisting children ages 3 to 5. We are looking for an assistant teacher who will collaborate with the faculty to prepare for and implement instruction. The candidate should possess the skills and passion necessary to inspire learning and enhance the overall educational experience by fostering social and emotional learning in accordance with our mission, philosophy, and core values.

Basic Qualifications

  • Familiarity with age appropriate social and emotional needs
  • Experience in working with Preschool age students.
  • Good command of English

Recommended Qualification

  • Good command of Arabic Language
  • CPR/1st Aid recommended
  • Early Childhood credentials

The Preschool Teacher Assistant will be responsible for supporting the program mainly in the following areas:

  • Assisting the teacher in preparing material for daily activities.
  • Helping in organizing activities so children can learn about the world, explore interests, and develop talents.
  • Follow daily schedules and routines.
  • Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring problems to the attention of teachers or director.
  • Ensuring the safety of the children and be able to maintain visual and auditory supervision both indoors and outside.
  • Upkeeping an organized, nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
  • Maintaining the overall classroom environment including restocking supplies, keeping an orderly environment, following sanitation guidelines and licensing requirements.
  • Assisting in record keeping for each child; documenting illness/injury, milestones and skills acquired, as well as learning, behavioral, or developmental concerns.
  • Assist students during bathroom time and takes care of students in case of a bathroom accident.
